Flying involves some risk and from time to time mishaps will occur, On July 1, 1940
two of the clubs planes were overturned on the water while landing in a sudden storm
one of these (top left) being destroyed piloted by George Carpenter of White Planes, NY
and the second piloted by Kay Holmes and my Father's Sister Miss Nettie Rabe, with
only slight damage to the aircraft in both cases there were no injuries, just soggy people.
